ARTIST'S STATEMENT
Some of my earliest visual memories included pattern and repetition.  I watched with fascination the stitches formed as I manipulated a crochet hook with my young hands. During the past few years, the urge to crochet with wire has brought an increasing appreciation for the duality of tension and movement that is apparent in the completion of each stitch.  The endless variety of forms that are possible to make with the tichnique has incouraged my hands to reach into their stroehouse of knowledge.  The addition of random weave has enhanced the process of deisigning and making each piece.  This newest series draws upon influences of culture, ethnicity, fashion and architecture.
