ABOUT THE ARTIST
Patti Quinn Hill has been a professional basketmaker since 1987. She is a member of the Southern Highland Craft Guild and is on the Board of Trustees. She is also a member of many national basketmakers' organizations. Her teaching experience consists of several classes a year at John C. Campbell Folk School, Arrowmont School of Crafts, Appalachian Center for Craft and teaching for private groups and guilds. She has been featured in many gallery exhibits and books on basketmaking, wreath making and beadwork. Hill has won awards for her baskets at gallery shows, fairs and national basketmakers conventions. Her traditional work includes Shaker baskets and her contemporary style leans more to the artistic elements of design and working in archival paper.

Her teaching experience consists of several classes a year at Penland School of Craft, Arrowmont School of Craft, CraftSummer at Miami University of Ohio, Appalachian Center for Craft, Tennessee Arts Academy, Tennessee Art Educators Association, American Craft Council Southeast Seminar, and teaching for private groups and guilds. She has been featured in many gallery exhibits, books on basketmaking, wreath making and beadwork. Patti has won awards for her baskets at gallery shows and fairs and national basketmaker conventions. Her work can be found in many private and corporate collections around the world. Her contemporary style leans more to the artistic elements of design working in archival paper. Patti’s woven vessels of paper can be acquired through Blue Spiral I Gallery, the Folk Art Center, delMano Gallery, The Center for Southern Craft and Design, and by commission.
