ABOUT THE ARTIST

Glenn Krueg has had an interest in fine woodworking for over fourty-five years. In early years he had instruction from an old-world-trained Scandinavian craftsman. Krueg's early work was primarily furniture. About fifteen years ago, he was inspired by world renowned woodturner Bob Stocksdale to develop his skills at a higher level.

Krueg has attended numerous seminars throughout the United States to further develop his skills. His lifelong interest in horticulture and travel has been a logical bridge in seeking rare, sensuous woods. He selects materials for color and grain patterns that will enhance his forms. Ultimately, he is seeking quiet simplicity in his beautiful pieces. The designs are inspired by classical forms which are thousands of years old. He encourages viewers to hold and touch his works.

Krueg creates these objects largely for personal satisfaction and for his desire to pursue excellence in the craft. Nonetheless, in the last several years, Krueg has been recognizes by miniature and wood collectors for producing the highest quality of miniature turnings available.
