ABOUT THE ARTIST
If all paths can lead to woodturning, Laurent Guillot is a perfect example. After being a drummer from 1991, he discovered woodworking through musical instruments. He first trained as a musical instrument maker and came to woodturning in 1995. His work is notable for it's diversity. Laurent is interested in all techniques: hollowing small and large shapes, surface texture, decorating with henna, assembling/ disassembling or multi-axis turning, In his development he aims for clarity and harmony of line inspired by nature. In the summer of 2002 he took part in ITE (International Turning Exchange) organised by the Woodturning Centre in Philadelphia. Laurent’s works are held in private and public collections around the world”
