ARTIST’S STATEMENT

Lost & Found

Each piece is a verse in a song. the chorus - Lost & Found - confirms that this work sprang from a looser improvisational approach in which I:
Reconsidered/recycled unfinished several turned forms edited from other projects.
Excavated some unusual limb scars from storage bins and shelves. Though dusty, these
tree-parts had indeed kept their youth, and the power to surprise.
Found objects and ideas that were mislaid or forgotten.
Lost myself in puzzles of arrangement of vessels-made within vessels-found.

Wall-mounted forms predominate. They address the viewer face-to-face. Two tableaux (Tartaruga and Phantom Limb) and a pilgrim-vessel (Lucky Leaf) attest to my continued interest in forms that inhabit a horizontal surface.

Now they step onto the public stage to sing their truths.
